FOR CHRIST AND HIS KINGDOM

One Story to Rule Them All

We are unashamedly committed to the biblical story of the triune God’s revelation of himself in creation, Israel, and the Church, centered in the person and work of Jesus Christ. We call our commitment to this biblical narrative Sacred Roots, our attempt to retrieve and relate in broad outline the Christian faith and practice proclaimed by the apostolic Church and developed from the Scriptures from the time of the Lord Jesus Christ to the middle of the fifth century.  These roots, the Great Tradition, summarize what the Church has always believed, everywhere, and by all who cling to the apostles’ testimony regarding Jesus of Nazareth.

We believe the biblical story narrates the story of creation and humankind, testifying to God’s love demonstrated in the sending of his Son to save the world, and gather a people who forever will honor his name.

REV. DR. DON L. DAVIS

— President, Churches of Christ the King

Retrieving the Great Tradition of the Church, the apostolic faith can renew our faith and refocus our efforts to exalt Christ and his Kingdom around the world.

THE HEARTBEAT OF CHURCH HEALTH AND REPRODUCTION

“If you intend to thrive and multiply as a church serving in an at-risk neighbor-hood, join a healthy movement now!”

At CCK we strive together as a network of churches to revive, renew, and plant healthy CCK churches in unreached communities where resources are scarce and Christ is not known. Our passion is to connect our CCK churches together for the purpose of representing Christ and his Kingdom in the places where we live and work.

The Churches of Christ the King was born from the heart of a small group of urban missionaries who obeyed a call to share the Good News and to make disciples of Christ in urban America. Their decades of service, justice, evangelism, and mission cemented in their hearts a shared commitment to Christ and his Kingdom, and a love for the Church as his agent, putting his life and rule on display in the neighborhood.

Enriched by their biblical commitment to Christ and the poor, these missionaries planted a little church, and formed the Association of the Churches of Christ the King. Our vision is to see a vast network of kingdom outposts around the world, churches living out God’s biblical story, announcing salvation in Christ, and providing friendship and connection to those serving Christ among the least-of-these in broken neighborhoods.
